On August 28, 2026, the Prime Ministers of the Baltic states, accompanied by their families, visited the haabjakoda to explore the traditions of dugout canoe building. At the workshop, the guests listened to stories about traditional boats and the historical importance of waterways.

Meanwhile, the children tried their hand at playing the pillhaabjas (a dugout canoe instrument). Afterward, everyone had the opportunity to carve into an aspen log using a traditional adze.

Gliding down the river in dugout canoes, the government leaders enjoyed the scenic views around Tori.

At the end of the visit, the guests received the 2027 Finno-Ugric Calendar, which showcases traditional logboats and expanded dugout canoes from across the Finno-Ugric peoples. To commemorate the occasion, they left their signatures on the seat of a newly built dugout canoe crafted by Jaan Keerdo.
